Our newest and favorite radio is the Yaesu FTDX10. It's simple to operate but there's tons of features, many of which we haven't got around to trying as of this post. We use the Yaesu M-70 microphone with it and have had only good reports using it.
Our "Shack-In-A-Box" radio is an ICOM IC-7100. I really do love this radio but had to go through a lot to get ICOM to ever get it repaired and sent back. A very long story short, they had it more of the first year than I did. So far, we haven't used it much since getting the Yaesu, which I bought because of not having a radio due to ICOM's poor support. To be fair, this was during the height of the Covid lockdowns. So, hopefully, my experience isn't typical of ICOM. I really like a lot of their radios and want to like them as a company but it will probably be a while before I consider them as an option. I'd very much like to try out some of the Kenwood radios before I try another ICOM.
We currently have an Alinco DR-B185 radio for our local "rag-chewing".
