From a very early age I was drawn to anything electronic. Any electronics that were thrown away, or left unattended, that I could get my hands on I'd take apart and tinker with. The first computer I actually owned was an Aquarius made by Mattel that a guy gave me. I learned on it, and eventually a Commodore 64, how to program in BASIC by the time I was 7 or 8 years old. Mostly I just copied code out of old books and magazines that I got at the library or that I found in my dad's things. While I don't remember this exact magazine, here's an example of the kind of things I started reading around the age of 6 or 7. I eventually did get an actual IBM computer, it was a PS/1 486SX 25MHz with 4MB of memory and a little over a 100MB hard drive just before turning 13. Shortly after that I built my first computer. It was a 486 motherboard in an old DTK case with a 5x86 Evergreen upgrade processor. I had 8 MB of memory in it and a Seagate 210MB hard drive, I still have the drive and it still worked last year (2021) when I tested it. Later I replaced that drive with a 500 MB hard drive.
Come back soon as I'll be adding to this and working on it in the coming days.
